How to manually start and stop recording on an active call

Basics of enabling or disabling recording of calls that are in progress ⏺

Truly Desktop

  1. Observe the the "Record" button just to the left of the end call button.

  2. A pulsing red icon indicates that a recording is in progress.

  3. A solid white icon indicates the call is not being recorded.

  4. To toggle recording off or on during an active call, click the "Record" button.



Truly Mobile and desk phone

Calls conducted via Truly mobile or via desk phone follow the same rules above and can be managed within the Truly desktop app while in-progress the same way.

Alternatively, the call recording can be started or stopped by pressing the keypad of your mobile phone or desk phone:

  1. A call recording can be started by pressing #02

  2. A call recording in-progress can be stopped by pressing #01


Automatic call recording, USA call recording compliance settings, and International call recording compliance settings can be enabled/disabled by the local Truly admin on your team.
