Integration Setup
Contact Truly Support to request adding the Okta integration for your organization.
Once your request has been processed support will follow up with information needed to setup your Integration:
Username (API Key)
Password (API Secret)
You may now add the Truly integration from the Okta OIN. Once the app is added, navigate to the 'Provisioning' tab and click ‘Configure API Integration’.
Use the information provided by support to complete the integration (Base URL, Username, Password). Use the 'Test API credentials' button to verify the information is correct, then hit 'Save'.
Under ‘Provisioning’, edit the ‘To App’ settings, enable the following and ‘Save’:
Create Users
Update User Attributes
Deactivate Users
Next, click on the ‘General’ tab and customize how you would like the app displayed to users.
The “To Okta” settings do not require any changes.
User Setup
There may be users that already have Truly accounts but are not in Okta, you can run an import to import these users into Okta.
Go to ‘Applications’ and select the Truly app
Click ‘Import Now
The Import will show results once completed. (This will also run an import on groups) and you will have the chance to make changes, and confirm assignments.
Sync Group Memberships
Groups imported from Truly will need to be linked to their respective Okta group to allow group memberships from Okta to sync to Truly.
Go to ‘Applications’ and click the Truly app
Click the ‘Push Groups’ tab
Click the gear icon button to modify naming preferences. If you wish for the group to be renamed in Truly, so that it matches what’s in Okta, this should remain checked.
Click the ‘ Push Group’ drop down to add group by name
Click the ‘Match results and push action’ drop-down
Click ‘Link Group’ and select the name of the group in Truly that you would like mapped to the Okta group selected.
Note: Link Group should be used when the group already exists in TrulyIn the event that a matching group does not exist in Truly, Click ‘Create Group’
Click Save
The status should update from ‘Pushing’ to ‘Active’
Assigning Groups
Once your Truly app is set up within Okta, and groups and users are imported and synced you may wish to complete app assignments.
Go to ‘Applications’ and locate the Truly app
Click the drop down carat and select ‘Assign to Groups’
A list of your Okta groups will populate, go through and select the groups to be assigned
If there are users that need to be assigned directly to the app, click ‘Assign to Users’
User Management
Creating New Users
Users created in Okta and assigned to the Truly app will receive an invite to Truly via email. Once they complete the signup steps they will have access to their Truly account.
Users created in Truly (after the initial import) will not be automatically added in Okta, but may be imported by an Okta admin.
Deleting Users
Users deactivated, suspended or unassigned from the Truly app will lose access to Truly. Their account will still show within Truly however they will not be able to log in.
