How to set up and verify your headset in Windows 10 🎧

  1. Plug your headset into your computer. If it's a wireless headset, plug the base into your computer and ensure that your headset has been charged.

  2. If you're using a wireless headset, turn it on.

  3. Right click on the sound logo in the bottom right corner of the screen (in the system tray).

  4. Click "Open Sound Setting"

  5. Under 'Input' make sure your headset is selected from the dropdown

  6. On the right hand side, select 'Sound Control Panel'

  7. Click the "Recording" tab.

  8. Ensure that your headset is the only device with a green check next to the icon. 

  9. If you see any other devices with a green check next to them, right click them and then click "Disable".

  10. Test by speaking into your microphone. If you see any other device's input rise and fall, be sure to disable it. You only want 1 "recording device" and sometimes Windows will have 2 enabled which can cause poor call quality.
