With the current shift to work from home, we want to make sure that you're set up to make and take calls without any disruptions!

Network Setup

When working from home, the quality of your calls will be dependent on your at-home network environment, and we're here to help as your remote IT/VoiceOps team.

If you're having issues with call quality at home, our Support team can work with you to make sure you're set up for success! Below are a some best practices for working from home:

  • Check your router settings to see if there are any settings relating to 'SIP ALG' enabled. If you do see this, ensure this feature is turned off. If you're unsure about how to find this information out, open a chat in app with Support! We'll look into the settings and work with you to make sure this is all set up properly.

  • Enable traffic shaping (QoS/queueing) to give Truly calls priority over other traffic on your network (like netflix or hulu). If you're unsure about whether your network supports this, open a chat in app with Support! We'll look into the settings and work with you to make sure this is all set up properly.

  • We recommend getting wired into an ethernet port, if possible. This will allow you to completely bypass common wifi problems.

  • If you're not able to physically wire in, try to relocate closer to the wireless access point you are connected to. We want to make sure there aren't any thick walls between you and your router that could cause interference.

Using Truly Mobile at home

  • In the event that you'd like more flexibility when making and taking calls, the Truly mobile app can be used from anywhere! It consumes minutes as opposed to data and will utilize your mobile carrier network, which can be a great help if your home network doesn't have many customization options.
View our help center article for more information on how to get up and running on Truly Mobile if you're not already.

  • If you'd still like to use the desktop application for keeping notes and dispositioning, just make sure to change your outbound call device! Calls will route to your mobile phone and you can still take down all of the important information right in the desktop app.

  • And yes, you can still use click-to-call from Salesforce (or any other webpage) while using Truly Mobile! Check out our help center article for more information.
